PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Launched in July of 2025, the Kahua Grants Initiative offers critical grant writing and management training to grassroots Maui nonprofits, along with free technical assistance to support program participants in the grant writing process. Since launching, Kahua Grants Initiative Cohort Members have seen incredible gains from participation in this program— including a 51% in successful grant applications, a 228% increase in total grant funds awarded from FY24 to FY25, and a 113% increase in the number of grant applications submitted. Graduating cohort members are more comfortable with the grant writing process, submit higher quality applications, and consistently succeed in more complex, competitive grant cycles.
